LAUNCH OF THE CANADIAN TOUR OF YOUTH MUSIC MOVEMENT WITH SIMPLE PLAN_ CULTURAL EVENT AND TRENDING EVENT ON TWITTER
Youth Music Movement (YMM) and members of the popular Montreal punk-pop group Simple Plan took part in the launch of a Canadian tour aimed at discovering future music celebrities in Canada. Youth Music Movement made stops in 11 cities across the country to produce free musical recordings and videos of young musicians. One song by each group was recorded for a CD, and a portion of the proceeds from the compilation was donated to the Simple Plan Foundation, an organization that promotes involvement in music as an activity to help young people. We oversaw all of the press relations activities in connection with the event, the scheduling for the spokespersons for Simple Plan and YMM and all aspects of organizing the launch event, including the concert featuring a number of groups. Our event included a comprehensive Twitter and Facebook strategy aimed at encouraging young people to take part in the event with their friends, which was such a huge success that our launch was declared “Trending” by Twitter. Several media were on site to conduct interviews, and we produced a video for the social network news wire operated by CNW. This mandate demonstrates our ability to attract the attention of the Quebec media, young people and social networks in connection with cultural projects, and our expertise in terms of managing spokespersons.
